Vengeance Incorporated – Love Kills CD

8 page CD booklet and CD shell inserts

CD package art for the re-release of power metal band Vengeance Incorporated’s fourth studio LP “Love Kills”. The original cover was a multi-media painting & collage using cloth, wood and other organic material (this was with actual mixed-media collage techniques, not PS). The rest of the package was developed on computer for the re-release version, as the original art and lyrics sheets was formatted for cassette and vinyl and this was planned for a CD release. What was new on the cover was the lettering (the original had no text on the cover) using the font “Ebola” with the distinctive damaged look, uneven kerning and line-spacing and the iconic backwards small ‘e’. The band liked the look so much they abandoned their old logo and used the Ebola logo on their next 2 albums after this one (which turned out to be their last ones). They reverted to their original logo for the “Chase the Dragon” box-set, but used the Ebola font for all the text lettering and several instances of the band name on the package.

A now defunct online magazine did an interview with the lead singer (I wasn’t involved) about the album cover and had an interesting take on my design, which was loosely based on the layout of a playing card, with the upsidedown and sideways orientation of the album and band name.

The package contains an 8 page booklet (stapled 2 folded pages)
